Even Onegai Twins enjoy Dorama

It’s always fun watching all the dorama happening from time to time, from drm’s attack on jason miao’s graph post to tjhan’s attack on a FYG and the latest being DarkMirage’s attack on Doremi, splashed front page on the gossip times.

Extra extra read about it! Ex-fansubber DarkMirage bashes Doremi for sloppy translations!

You go girl, DarkMirage!

Tsubaki’s Top 5 OP & ED picks

Posted by tsubaki | Filed under Music

tsubakitop5opedpicks.jpg

The OP and ED of an anime actually plays a part in deciding as to whether I want to continue or drop the anime. For example, despite how crappy and painful Soul Link was to watch, it had a really great OP and ED (Navel seems to have really good OP & EDs for it animes, despite how bad it is. Shuffle!’s OP & ED was good too).

And so, it’s time to round up a couple of my favorite picks this season. Summer and Spring OP & EDs are listed, as long as they have not finished airing. Otherwise I’d put the Hare Hare Yukai all the way. Hahaha, just kidding.

Presenting Tsubaki’s Top5 OP and ED picks:

Anime Desho Desho DECLARES WAR

omghbeetlesucsk.jpg
OMFG FUCK FUCK FUCK.

Just minutes ago, my room was invaded by a flying beetle that apparently was scouting for the Simoun’s mothership. It flew right beside my ear and I was forced to take immediate action-

Dispatching Simoun Simulas to get rid of it. They hunted it down and used the Iron Re-mergion and it successful destroyed the enemy beetle, but however Aeru reports that a friendly ally was also accidentally destroyed. Nina is injured!

MY MAI-OTOME CHARACTER DATA POSTER WAS RE-MERG-FUCKED BY THAT BEETLE. IT’S ALL THAT BEETLE’S FAULT. (never mind the fact that it was me that used a towel to smack it without realizing that that swipe could be fatal)

ANIME DESHO DESHO DECLARES WAR ON BEETLES. BRING IT ON YOU BLOODY KABUTOS.

OMFGADRAGONU TIGERU GATO SUCKS.

Posted by tsubaki | Filed under Movie

dragontigergate.jpg

I know this is a wrong place to review this movie, since it has nothing got to do with animes but hey, since Dragon Tiger Gate is adapted from a manhwa, it’s technically a manga so yeah, I’m sooo bitching about this movie here. (And besides, I get to practice doing my film review homework here, hah)

Accomplished scriptwriter cum director Wilson Yip (Bullets Over Summer, Juliet in Love, Skyline Cruisers, 2002, Dry Woof Fierce Fire and SPL) attempts to recreate Dragon Tiger Gate with a slick and highly CG-ed Kung Fu action feel, but fails with a complete catastrophic plot riddled with loopholes and terrible film pacing.

Starring Donnie Yen, Nicholas Tse and Shawn Yue, Dragon Tiger Gate is a complete flop with its focus solely intended to milk the audience’s worth with its effects and star-studded cast.

Results of the 3 animes you will choose if you could only choose 3

top3isucouchlose.jpg

I guess everyone found it difficult to pick just 3 animes to watch, gone were the days when everyone started out watching only Bleach and Naruto. With such a wide and interesting variety of animes from this season and the previous season, we often find ourselves stuck with a huge backlog.

A quick tabulation of the 28 comments that you guys left on the previous post:

Honey and Clover (11) tops the list, followed by Zero no Tsukaima (9) and Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, School Rumble and Saiunkkoku Monogatari tied (6).

And the rest are pretty close as well: Zegapain (5), Utawaremono (5), NHK ni Youkoso (4), Bokura Ga Ita (4), Ouran High School Host Club (3) and Aria the Natural (3).

I’m quite suprised that Ouran didn’t do that well. It started out really well, but I guess its engine is spluttering a little. I’m not saying it’s boring, rather it’s losing it orginal charm when it first exploded into the scene.

Also, out of the list here, I have not started watching Aria, Saiunkkoku Monogatari and Bokura Ga Ita. I’m suprised that so many of my readers here watch shoujo/jousei type animes! Oh noes, I’m attracting the wrong crowd! Just kidding.

I’ll probably pick Saiunkkoku Monogatari and Bokura Ga Ita up when I’m done with this backlog.

While Xak have pointed out that I only have 41 episodes to watch based on the screenshot I posted, I actually have around 90 episodes. Unfinished episodes of DCSS, Kashimashi, Magical Pokan, Shinigami No Ballad and Yume Tsukai. I chuck those into my Completed Anime list tab on my spreadsheet.

And now, back to Operation: Assassinate Tsubaki’s backlog. I have to clear them all to welcome the new season which is coming soon in about a month’s time.

If you could only watch 3 animes this season, what would it be?

Click here to see the larger version.

I was looking at my backlog (yeah, I use Excel to keep track of my watch list) and I realized that I’m following quite a hefty amount of anime this season. The bad part about this is that my personal time used for watching anime has been shortened a lot (due to homework) and I can watch a maximum of 2 animes on my PSP on the way to school.

So I was thinking, if I could only follow 3 animes this season and stick with it till it ends, which would I pick?

Would you choose all your favorite 3 or would you go for a all-rounded mix- a comedy type anime, a serious anime and a action type anime. I don’t think I want to watch 3 slow paced animes despite how good they are.I must have a brain dead slap stick anime in it at least.

And so, after much consideration (it’s awfully difficult to choose, considering the number of animes avaliable), I have decided to choose to the following 3:

Sispri Gauntlet Replays

When you complete stage 15, you’ll unlock this character.

I have been playing Sispri Gauntlet for the last hour or so and I almost managed to complete level 3. I have not been playing Sispri religiously lately because I been busy catching up on my animes.

As promised, here are my 2 best replays for you to watch if you still have not been able to clear stage 1 and stage 2.

I found all the little secrets in Stage 1 and 2, so go ahead and memorize them. If I missed out any, please let me know and we’ll all learn from it.

New Poll: Battle of the pink haired lolis

Posted by tsubaki | Filed under Poll

LOLITABATTLEADDv2.jpg

And now, time for the Battle of Characters Poll. This week, we pit two pink haired lolis against each other. Coyote Ragtime Show’s Franca, the girl with a pendant containing a map to some hidden treasure against Innocent Venus’s Sana, the girl that everyone is seeking after because of her hidden powers. Who would you choose?

This is probably the most difficult battle ever, with both girl having almost similar characteristics and situations. And let’s run through some of the comparisions between the two.

とりあえず 「消失」 読んでからね: Best Yuki doujinshi ever.

Posted by tsubaki | Filed under Manga

yukidoujin (2).jpg

Anime Desho Desho’s first NSFW entry. I bet after this entry I’ll start getting weird google searches, but this is worth it.

toriaezu yonde kara ne (translated: start reading from for now ok?) would probably be probably the best Yuki doujin I had ever seen so far. It’s really well drawn, and it is pretty much digestable for most people- there aren’t tentacle smex, chicks with you know what or any weird sorts of smex that the japanese enjoy.

It’s just pure sweet romance between Kyon and Yuki (YESS!) and it’s just fantastic. And now a couple of scans from the doujinshi. I randomly picked a few that pages that won’t make ADD look like a 2nd Onii-chan no Ecchi, lol.

I really really like how Yuki’s drawn here. Minor NSFW scans under the cut.

VisionaRyWings: Stunning graphics

And we’re back in the Comiket 70 game review business, after distractions from events like Wanfesu and ADDR!.

Today I’m bringing you VisionaRyWings, a really eye candy touhou bullet hell vertical scrolling shooter game developed by Nekomimi no Kakaera. It’s also a 3D game, instead of the usual 2D format for most touhou games.

Prepare to feast your eyes on its lovely graphics.
