Figurine Snapshots: MaxFac’s 1/7 Ignis from Jinkai Makyou

And presenting the godlike figurine that everyone has been waiting for. The teasing ends here now.
MaxFactory raises the figurines sculpturing bar with this extremely hot and lethal 1/7 figure of Ignis. BOME’s Ignis looks like crap beside her and I’m biting my tongue for ALTER’s version, since I have yet to see it.
My policy on figure buying is that I don’t repeat characters unless it’s really really different, so I won’t get ALTER’s version.
Now what’s so damn good about Jinkai Makyou or also translated as Chaos Gate that it has 3 companies dying to cast her into PVC? Even Haruhi doesn’t get the same amount of attention that Ignis does.
Unfortunately, I don’t really know much about Jinkai Makyou, except for the fact that the company that made this game, Nitro+, also made Demonbane.
I’m currently downloading the game, but it’s moving really slowly since there’s only 1 seeder. I might just give up and go grab the HCG instead. Anyone has it?
Now Ignis is just hot. Her character design is already hot to begin with. She’s got a great face, really nice long red hair and a beautiful purple eyes.
MaxFactory has done a really good job with her face and I don’t have any complains about it. Her hair is just mind blowingly good, and I’m starting to suspect that I have a fetish for figures with long hair.
For this figure, she comes with a spectacles as well, but I never took it out for fear of losing it. It’s really small and I don’t think want her without it. Though ironically I’m not displaying her with it on my cabinet.
Oh and she’s got the ultimate killer ahoge. Nobody’s got a bigger ahoge than she does.
Here you can see that she’s pretty well endowed.
Is having all of that a little inconvient for our kick ass sword chick? I wouldn’t mind holding them for awhile. Hahaha, I kid.
Her costume designs has got to be my favorite part of this whole entire figure. I wished I knew the name behind the character designs for Jinkai Makyou, because a lot of his/her design elements are also quite visible in Demonbane.
Oh come on, don’t cringe when I mention Demonbane. The designs for Demonbane rocks, despite how lame the anime was (other than the near rape scene with Al Aziz and Kuro, hah).
The side splits on her dress are perfect. Enough for us to see a little of what she’s wearing, but not there yet. The excellent teaser pantsu.
One word to describe Ignis’s back-
Sexywwraaaaarrrrrrrrrrr.
The picture doesn’t really show, but she’s got really hot shoulders too.
The back of her dress is even more cooler.
I always have a soft spot for black butterfly designs. They just are so wicked and awesome. This whole entire piece wins.
Ignis’ sword is wickedly cool.
Among all the figures I have, she’s got the best looking sword and I like black and red gradient of color on the sword. Dark Saber’s sword comes next, followed by Nanoha’s Raging Heart. Hahaha, just kidding.
And now, the reason why Ignis was delayed for more than 2 months. The mirror.
This figure uses a mirror base instead of the ordinary plastic base. It’s a great way to look up her skirt since you don’t have to do a Satou and tie your shoe laces just to get a whiff of her white pantsu, but I don’t really like the mirror.
There are fine scratches and spots on the mirror that really make it ugly. I’ve been using my lens cloth to wipe it, but it’s still there. I guess the only way to fix it is to get it buffed.
Also, I’m starting to worry a little for my Ignis figure. She’s very heavy infront (you should know why, lol), and her hair at the back doesn’t seem to be a good counter weight. While it’s a good thing that her legs and ankles are much harder than the average PVC, she is however, attached to the base on the tip of her shoe which increases the chance for her to bend.
I’m not sure whether I’m being paranoia or what, but she looks like she’s becoming Arika Number 2.
Anyone else who has the same problem with this?

Damn that’s good. To bad about the mirror being scratched up. That seems to be a common complaint, though nobody is complaining too much because the figure rocks.
its a nice character – so nice that im in a pinch on whether i should get this one or the upcoming orchid seed version… or both.
anyways, does anybody have background info on her? and on the series jingai makyou? (aside from the fact that its an H-game, of course!)

The mirror being scratched should be pretty well fixable with some of that glass… filly… inny… stuff. You know? it’s like spray on shit that hardens clear. YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.

Anyway, got my Ignis today as well and it is very sweet as you have mentioned Tsubaki. I do have the same worries as you about the stability considering the figurine doesn’t “stick” to the pegs that well.
… but guess I’ll worry about if/when it happens. For now, I’ll sit back and enjoy the awesomeness of this MaxFactory masterpiece XD

I got Ignis in the mail today. Me, being the klutz I am, managed to snap her glasses in half while trying to remove them from that glob of plastic wrap they were trapped in. Then after I managed to superglue them back together, I went and dropped them on the floor. Took me about three minutes to find them.
Agh, those glasses. Right now Ignis is holding them in her hand, cause I’m too scared to attempt to stick them on her face.

Have any of you other Ignis owners tried displaying her holding her sword the “normal” way with blade pointing to her right? I think it looks better this way. Try it!
@weew Congrats! Maybe it’s the climate here, but I think I’m gonna put her back in the box. Don’t want her to warp too much. I tried putting the sword differently, but I still prefer the original pose.
[...] There is one potential problem to report with the figure. Tsubaki over at Anime Desho Desho? reports in the comments for his Ignis review that his Ignis is starting to warp after just a week. If you’re in a warm climate and can’t climate control, this might be a problem. Mine has been out of the box for almost a week and no sign of leaning one way or the other, but it rarely gets above 80 degrees in my apartment. Anyone else have a report on whether their Ignis leans or not? I’ll update if mine does. [...]

[...] I wanted to have some differentiation from Superrats’ and Tsubaki’s galleries, so I experimented with a few things, ranging from Go boards and stones to red trinkets in the background. Was even considering using the red sand I got to paint the logo found on her base onto the white background, but a more cautious approach was appropriate for this maiden indoor shoot. Hence, it was a simple layout, with two pieces of large vangard sheet, of red and white. Turns out the lights were far too yellow and even after white-balancing the camera correctly, Ignis’s skintone and hair were still far too yellowish leaving me no choice but to turn to photoshop. And in doing so, a more bold and artistic colour choice was effected using the Selective Colours tool. Disclaimer: the original Ignis colours do not look like this, especially the hair – it’s far more gentle and toned. And I mounted the sword the other way around. I meant it! Serious. [...]
Love the figurine. I myself have a Ignis figure. I have the one by Monsieur BOME and I love it. I was planning on buying the other Ignis ones but I thought to myself that having multiple Ignis figures is kind of weird. Maybe I’ll go get a Haruhi Suzumiya figure :)

got my Ignis last week. Used to be my avatar for ages without knowing who is on the pic. Now MaxFactory and Alter versions are standing on my shelf. Both are boxed and won’t open ever. Hopes protect them for long time and wont blend away :D
