My Leaning Ignis + Figurine collection so far!

What’s this bluey thing on my Ignis figure?

/edit I forgot to post pictures of my bottom shelves. Added them in, so please check them out again!

Yeah, you’ve probably heard, my Ignis is starting to lean a little, like my Arika figure. It’s really annoying and I’m kinda pissed because Ignis happens to be my favorite figure.

I’m not too sure why this happens; my display cabinet for figures is away from direct sunlight and it isn’t very warm in my room.

Unfortunately I don’t have the wealth of tj han, who can afford (or rather, his parents- that hikki) to air condition his room 24hr every day.

I’ve managed to fix this problem somehow actually, by compromising the base and using blue tacks to attach her to the ground. It’s not necessary since Ignis stands pretty well without the base, but I don’t want to to risk it.

If someone bumps onto this cabinet, she’ll definitely fall and might snap her ahoge or something.

leaninignistower (10).JPG

It’s a bloody waste that I can’t use her base because the base really makes her hawter plus I don’t have to bend down to look at her pantsu.

But ah well, I won’t have problems with the pegs and holes and whatever thingy.

So right now the mirror base is being used as my sister’s makeup mirror. Just kidding. I don’t have a sister.

Oh yeah, I decided to let her wear her megane. Shouko from Asatte no Houko kicked start the megane-fetish in me again. Hell yeaaaah!

leaninignistower (11).JPG

Yeah, and remember my leaning Arika? After I gave her the special tsubaki blue tack treatment, she’s back to normal. No more leaning. Hooray!

My blue tacks are the win.

And now, here’s a tally of my figurine collection so far. I haven been buying any figures lately because I’m not working now, but things are going to change when my holiday starts next week.

It’s time to go nuts and blow more money senselessly again.

The top shelf is occupied by Hikaru from Peace@Piece, Dark Saber from Fate/stay Night, Nanoha from Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha and Al Azif from Demonbane.

leaninignistower (1).JPG

And Rin from FS/N, Rina from Pastel Chime: Continue, Natsuki and Mai from Mai-HiME, Yakumo from School Rumble, and on their right (picture not shown) lies Ignis and Arika.

Also here’s the pictures I forgotten to post:

leaninignistower (4).JPG

Shana from Shakugan no Shana and the duo Rei and Asuka from Neon Genesis Evangelion.

leaninignistower (6).JPG

And Rin and Saber from FS/N. My first set of figurines, which I bought from Comic Connection and I wasn’t aware that they were bootleg figures. Fuck CC.

leaninignistower (5).JPG

And my Granado Espada T-shirt, autographed by the maker himself, Hakkyu Kim! XD

The right side of my cabinet is filled with gashapons and trading figures.

I’ve sworn to stopped collecting, but there recent appearance of certain trading figures are threatening to break my vow.

My figures are also in a different place compared to the first pictures I posted of my room awhile ago; I’m slowly running out of space and I might have to remove my magazines, cds, psp games, etc to free up more display space for my figures.

My room hasn’t change much; the same posters are on the wall and I’ve stopped buying Megami and Newtype to save money. I’ll probably resume Megami when my cashflow is back though.

I’ve spent a total of SGD$1491.70 on figurines just alone. I’m actually quite suprised at the amount spent. I’m pretty sure I didn’t spent that much you know…

What’s left on my pre-order list is teh Hobby Japan Limited Edition Swimsuit Rider which I ordered from KKnM awhile ago.

Speaking of pre-orders…

I’VE NOT PRE-ORDERED MY HARUHI FIGUREYET!!!!11111ONEONEONE

  2. TedFox |

    Looks just like whatshisname from welcome to NHK’s room.

    Time to buy more stock in blue tack

  3. ethreal |

    Ahhh Leaning Tower of Ignis. Sadly blue tags don’t work on my Lacus figures. Companies shouldn’t make figures that stand on one leg/have their feet too close together.

    I’m eyeing a lot of things too. Like a 1/6 Talho figure and I don’t even watch Eureka 7. D:

    Your room is like..freaking 1337. Mines just filled with books and the only posters i got are the FMA and bleach ones my friend gave me.

  5. tj han |

    So so weak. LOL. OK Thanks to you I shall now post an uncensored, uncut picture of my room.

    Nice collection Tsubaki ^^ Do you mind of taking some closer pictures of your hime and otome gashapons? I wonder if they’re a worth buy

    My Yamamoto Kasukabe Saki likes to tip over,, no bending, shes just not attatched to the base well, and falls over :( so i have to lean her against stuff. The Suigentou figure where shes sitting on the cross thing leans as well, apparently it cant support her weight, just waiting to get home and shes laying on the floor with all the bows and shit lost in the carpet and the stand/cross thing snapped off the base. All my complaining aside, very nice collection.

    @silver

    orly? At least I got one..some cheap squall figure my friend gave me, and I don’t even play final fantasy (because i don’t own a playstation 2). Dang..I wanna customize my own room..

    All nice and organized. I could use a cabinet or display case…right now my trading figs are displayed all over my room while my PVC’s stand proudly over my video game collection in the entertainment room.

    @Sora Bring it on bitch!

    @Tedfox Yamazaki? Lol.

    @ethreal My blue tacks are super tacks that helped save alot of my leaning figures, including my trading figs.

    @elohir Mine’s nothing, honestly. I only started like what? half a year ago?

    @tj han I finally get to see your room.

    @helspectre tj han wins. He’s funded by the government after all.

    @LazyShinigami Thank you. I have pictures of them on my old site, you can check it out here. May I warn you that my old pictures sucks, so don’t expect much.

    @Salsashark Oh, when I saw that Suiguintou figure, I had the feeling she wasn’t stable. That’s why I didn’t buy her, even though I much a fan of her. And thanks!

    @Shiru04 Yeah, I think it’s nicer to have them placed neatly, but I think in about less than 1 years time, I’ll need another cabinet >.>

    @Zero-Hour Heh. >D

    @sinistral OMG at what?

  24. tsubaki |

    @umehiko MEH. Rich girl.

    @jlave If you read properly, I have not pre-ordered mine yet >.>

    @abao Sure, my address is No. 1 Parliament Place, Singapore 178880

    @wackedfoo I don’t buy my figurines online, but I think HLJ isn’t too bad.

  25. elohir |

    Dun need to eat the humble pie lah. .

  26. elohir |

    eh cut off my post again, this is retarded….

    rest of it : you have a cool room so there’s no need to hide it. XD

    Are these figures really that fragile? If so, I’d feel really sorry for any figure collector living in Japan, and all of a sudden, there being an earthquake.

    Your pictures are really tempting me to start buying them, especially the Ignis figure.

  28. abao |

    OMG…No. 1 Parliament Place, Singapore 178880…I can forget about it…security’s too tight for me. ^_^

  29. sinistral |

    To be able to spend so much money at figurines, that’s not what I can do. I like your shelves, very tidy.

  30. niceone |

    hi!! how was the bootleg Rin and Saber by Goodsmile? was it good as the original one(notice that the shoes were painted wrong)? does it prone to paint chip? sorry too many question.. thanks..

  31. wyred |

    hey, does your shelf effectively keep dust out? My figurines are all still in their packaging because I don’t want to have dust gather on them.

  32. tsubaki |

    @niceone Both are quite similar to the original one, cept for Rin’s shoes.

    @wyred Suprisingly, there’s very little dust on them. I daresay none at all.

  33. Zanza |

    damn, how did i not know about this blog? hey bud, following a link from Moy’s, another great blog to add to my anime bookmarks XD

    omg.. i have a leaning figure too.. oh and btw.. i’ve just opened the box of my ignis and put her on her base thingy.. i don’t want my cutest figures to lean over like they’re sick T_T
    what is the BEST way to prevent that?

  41. GuyJin |

    Hey there,

    I’m a complete noob to the figurine collecting scene and didn’t even realize about leaning until just today.

    But I just thought of something, however I’m not sure at all whether this procedure could even feasibly work or not.

    But rather than tacking a figurine to the side of a wall or cabinet to let gravity reset the figurine’s position, would it be more efficient to simply slide it back into the box and reposition the box in such a way as to fix the figurine’s lean?

    That is, if it still manages to fit inside the packaging of course. If it’s way too bent out of shape, I guess it can’t be helped. :(

    Thanks for the info, nice figurines!

  42. OiD |

    Damn! you’ve got the whole set of Utaware. I’m still missing Urutori and got a bunch of repeats xD.

    Very nice collection! Good thing you’ve got the glass door, my collection is small and it take ages to dust them T_T

  43. Veers |

    I’ve had my Ignis standing on her base on my bookshelf for six months now, but she was warped when I got her and has stayed warped. Last night I let gravity take a shot at fixing her. The setup I used is pretty obscure (like this: harnessed her feet into a MagLite clip sleeve and anchored it into an old Fisher Price mini pool table) but the point is that the gravity method worked great and required no temperature changes or forceful torquing (and Ignis is a hard figure to get a good grab on with all her hair and dress). After 8 hours in that horizontal position at 67 degrees F, she’s able to stand without her base.

    I put her back in the packaging for now, just because, but next time I display her I’m going to sticky her ankle to the base/shelf to force some of her weight to be dispersed there. I might try propping the front of the base up a bit to adjust her center of gravity, too.
