Chocolate Cornet: The next big food thingy thing
Posted by tsubaki | Filed under Anime, Random

Taiyaki can move aside now. Lucky Star has made the Chocolate Cornet the next in thing.
One thing about animes these days is turning ordinary food into iconic things. Kanon made Taiyaki famous. Shakugan no Shana made Melon Pans famous. So on and so forth.
The only problem now is, WHERE DO I FIND THIS IN SINGAPORE?

Atleast you live in an asian country. Try finding this in canada ;_;
I’m hungry…
If it’s chocolate filled, I’m going to look for it at the asian marts nearby or if I remember when I eventually get to Chinatown.
make your own lah. or find someone who bakes to do this.. or if you know a bakery, suggest. then tell me which bakery.
This stuff and melon pan are available at a Japanese grocery down the street from me :D
*Takes a crosant and fills it with nutella chocolate; puts it in microwave, 50s* …FAILED, chocolate exploded.
*Takes a crosant and fills it with nutella chocolate; puts it in oven, 5mins* …FAILED, chocolate became chunky.
*Takes a crosant and fills it with [...]; puts it on top of a toaster, 3mins* …IT’S OK, close enough!!
T.T Tsubaki can you say “meow” for me?
Kasugano Urara made them famous first. Her hair looks exactly like them!
Bugis Junction makes cream puffs though.
@xeshiro hear hear
Come to RP.
We have coronets x3
*eats one for break in school everyday, konata-style*
@Xeshiro But you guys have… maple trees! Lol.
@air Guess I will have to check Takashimaya for it.
@Ein Nya…
@Sana Jisushi Oh, never heard of her before. =/
@sentinel011 Lol cream puffs are easy to get.
@umehiko SRSLY? Need photo.
Another problem is which end do you start eating it from?
plenty to be foud in Australia (sydeny)
it seems that takashimaya has melon pans(basement 2). me fren bought it b4….as for taiyaki, takashimaya has it too..lol….and lastly, as for Chocolate Cornet, try takashimaya..maybe they have it..aka..if you drop by kino, go to their basement and try finding the above 3..have fun..
It looks like they took a sausuage bun (yummy!), pulled out the sausage and put a chunk of chocolate in there instead o_O
I live in San diego california……Time for a Mitsuwa run.
Melon Pan isnt hard to find here, same with Taiyaki. Since it comes from the same Market I mentioned above. With luck, this will come around or it already has.
have wad.
i eaten before.
japanese confectionary shops!
HAHA I CAN EAT IT WHENEVER I WANT because they sell them in the store just in front of my house. Only fault is that it rots after 3 days or so in open and it becomes hard as rock after 5 days in the fridge. Taiyaki is really cheap here. Melon pan is impossible to find though.
There is even white cream cornet;; I can’t remember what the white/yellow cream is called.
I was eating this gigant mandu (is it called bao in Chinese?) and I got a bad stomachache now because it was too spicy. (not that you care, though, nahaha)
The cornets from Fiesta back then all looked like caterpillars than seashells >__>
I watched Ookiku Furikabutte. Not too bad. Now off to Sola ep.3 and darker than black
I’d stick to my guo tiao kthx.
I had a craving for this after my 1st episode of Lucky Star, and i found this selling at the confectionery at basement of Lido. Yah, the one beside MOS burger… Nice…I think i am going back that this weekend jus for tat…
Oh hey, there’s this really awesome bakery in Holland Village called Provence that sells great chocolate cornets (and cream cornets). It’s REALLY GOOD.
I must hunt it down! And eat it!
I miss melon pan! Dunno where to find it here in London though~ -_-
zomfg, thanks for the food tips guys!
I can find coronets at a somewhat near by bakery. It’s true about the Shana thing, after watching her eat a melon-pan I went out to buy one. Not exactly what I was expecting, it was even half the size of what she eats, but pretty good.
Me too, i never knew that there were so many flavours of melon pan! There’s a really good bakery in novena square that makes a mean melon pan, not sure about chocolate cornets though.
Novena Square, ok I might go there one there… Just to buy a melon pan. What’s the name of the bakery by the way?
melon pan was in so many animes, i looked for it immediately after DearS. *drool*
anyways, wonder if ryujikun managed to find chocolate cornets in mitsuwa. I know they have tiny meronpans that go for like a dollar each. >.
try sun moulin @ Isetan Shaw B1..
How big is one melon pan btw… Oh and I realized that there was a error in my previous post… So I’ll retype it.
Novena Square, ok I might go there one day… Just to buy a melon pan. What’s the name of the bakery by the way?
Urm, did you check your sister’s blog again? i bet you did already… if not… you missed out on the “Coronet Factory”
[...] sweet things, discovered a Bakery located in Holland Village that sells Choco Coronetto. YES! TEH KONATA CHOCO CORONETTO. And she’s responsible for sending all the hikkikomoris of Singapore out of them homes, into [...]
Hah, here in Brazil you can find chocolate cornots in every normal bakery!!
…….but it seems that taiyaki don’t exist here…….
Search this here, in Italy. It’s impossible. Homever, there are all kinds of cornet *___*
Found chocolate and cream cornets in Sun Moulin (a bakery) in Isetan (Orchard, Shaw) that |c3^sNoW mentioned above. It’s quite good, a lot of choco inside! Only tried that single chocolate cornet and wanted to get more to let my family try, only to find that they’d all sold out (took about 3 hours?)
Have got to try the one in Holland Village next.
I really want to try one. I might beable to get one and try it but I’m nto sure yet.
Also, I live in the U.S.
where u fine this in singapore?
i live in west zone at cck
find*
does lot 1 have it
It does look awfully tasty, but where the hell am I gonna find one in the barren wastelands of northern Scotland?! T_T
Chocolate cornets look awfully yummy, but where can I buy them in the Bay Area California? Like…..near Milptias or something o_O
To i goes RAWRS-
There’s a similar Mexican pastry that looks like a chocolate cornet, but it’s filled with custard. I think they CAN be filled with chocolate, so you might be able to find something similar in a panaderia. :]
Talking about Mexican pastries, Suzu talked about custard filled cornets… I found that in several bakeries of Mexico City, cornets are filled either with custard or whipped cream, I don’t know which one is easier to clean to fill it with chocolate.
Maybe in some bakeries you can ask for a batch of unfilled cornets and fill them with Nutella or some other kind of chocolate cream.
Well buy simple french croissants cut them to the half and fill it up with nougat chocolate (you might end up to make a hole in it), cause nougat isn’t hard the chocolate get squeeze out if you bite from top to down or down to top?
These can be found at a chinese bakery called “BreadTop”~ i bought one today :P
Is there anywhere in San Jose CA that sells this? i really want one.
where can you find these in ontario i want one so bad
My friend makes them for me :D.other than that though there impossible to find in Florida
wish i could help you, but its going to be hard enough to find one here in Minnesota. .__.
yeah canada might not even have anything near an asian market. I wonder if they got some in china town here in Las Vegas HMMM i wanna go look BYE-BYE hehe ive had one too very good xD
I heard they sell them at Starbucks…I highly doubt it, but I hope to get those dang cornets! TT_TT
Where can you get them at Land O’ Lakes, FL?
I live by Vancouver (Coquitlam, B.C, Canada) and there is this T&T Asian store that sells butter cream cornets. Just finished one, and omg they are the best pastries ever! The dough they use is the “Asian sweet bread” dough, so they won’t be too hard to duplicate, and fill with chocolate. Other than that, I shall look around to find chocolate ones.
i wanna try one
but the real question is, which end of the cornet is the top? >:3
I see someone says BreadTop has these. I’ll shortly be visiting BreadTop then! :D
I’ll follow Konata’s example and eat it pointy end first.. xD
omg.. can somebody tell me da recipe??
really wanna make it!!!
please dont let the recipe be difficult.. im kinda stupid hehe xD
