You’re Under Arrest: Full throttle!

Oh man, the first episode of You’re Under Arrest: Full Throttle is win.

It brought manly tears to my eyes as Miyuki and Natsumi reunite again after so many years (I believe it’s 6 years, season 2 ended in 2001). I remember crying when I watched the second season many many years ago. It was so damn good, only because Akiko Hiramatsu and Sakiko Tamagawa were and still are, such awesome seiyuus. Even now, they still sound like they’re fricking young kickass policewomen. They haven quite vocally aged.

Not to forget that Miyuki’s character design also inspired Kosuke Fujishima to come up with Belldandy in Ah! My Goddess.

If you’re new to the whole You’re Under Arrest series, please go dig out the first two seasons and watch it. It’s really awesome, so fricking awesome till I nearly became a traffic policeman. Luckily I realized that in Singapore, all the traffic police people do is just give people parking tickets and getting shitloads of arguing drivers.

The first episode of Full throttle really brings back all the memories I had with You’re Under Arrest.

Miyuki and Natsumi have finished their respective training. Towards the end of season 2, both of them split up (almost destroyed their friendship! Zomfg, cry!) to pursue, or shall I say, further their career options. So Miyuki come back from America, and Natsumi gets released from the army.

Natsumi, is a muscle freak without looking anything like Captain Undine. I daresay she’s got more strength than her, if they go head on (no yoma allowed of course), Natsumi will win. Period.

Miyuki, on her flight back to Tokyo meets Randy, a well behave kid (zomfg, finally an anime without an annoying brat) who is flying alone. Both of them becomes friends after playing on Miyuki’s notebook. For those who can remember from the original You’re Under Arrest, Miyuki is a tech guru- it’s no surprise why Randy got pwned.

Fast forward to the airport, they have finally arrived and Randy’s grandfather who was supposed to pick him up, fails to arrive. In local singlish terms, Randy kenna put airplane, lol. Suddenly, a suspicious looking dude in black suit comes and pick Randy up. For a moment you can’t tell whether he’s good or bad since we’re all too familiar with kids who are alone and have uber rich families.

Randy finally realizes he’s fucked, and screams for help. NOW THAT’S WHAT WE’RE WAITING FOR. Action time.

Miyuki grabs a random otaku’s luggage and sends it flying towards the black suit dude. Imagine if it was your luggage filled with goodies from Japan getting flung at someone else. All of your precious doujin, figurines, photobook, manga has now turned into a weapon of mass destruction. I’d go HULK SMASH on everyone if that ever happens to me.

And finally the car chase scene. If there’s one thing I like about You’re Under Arrest, it’s their car chase scenes. It’s always so awesome to watch. NEVER MIND THE FACT IT MAKES NO SENSE. Disgard reality and you will see this is AWESOME. This chase scene isn’t that fantastic, but it helps trigger the memories of the good old days. Miyuki with her 1337 driving skills totally owns. Watching her drive has always been an arousing thing.

Not in the sexual sense, but just the whole WOW SUGOI! sense. Nothing beats a chick behind the wheels driving like that. Well okay, only for anime since in reality, we all know for a fact that _____ cannot drive.

BUT EVEN IF YOUR MOM CAN’T, MIYUKI CAN!

THAT’S ALL THAT MATTERS! Which having said that, I’ve lost my train of thought now. I can only sum the only entire ending up with one word-

There. I’ve said it all. Oh and if I have to add, I’d say that Miyuki’s cool intellectual thinking just makes it even more awesome. Calmly assessing the situation and hitting em with solutions, mmmmh. It’s a damn pity that the van she stole borrowed (and smashed) didn’t have any of airsoft guns. It’s always so awesome when you watch her drive and fire paintballs at the driver’s windscreen.

As for Natsumi… her uber breaking legs never fails to blow me away. I mean heck, it’s totally unreal but WOW I’M SOLD. I ACTUALLY BELIEVE IN HER LEGS! That mafia dude that got kicked in the face got it lucky. I wouldn’t even bat an eyelid if Natsumi pops him out of the Black Mercedes (Lol, the cliche Yakuza car).

Alright, can’t wait for more to come. Want moar of the patrol car chases and Natsumi’s kickass Moped, the Honda Moto-Compo. Oh and I totally totally dig their Honda Today, that haxeed mini patrol car that Miyuki souped up. I wonder if they’ll still get it back.

Oh and lastly, the ED sequence is DAMN PROMISING. WE SEE YURI. WET POLICEWOMEN YURI. ZOMFG. IS THIS GONNA HAPPEN? HOW IS IT POSSIBLE WHEN MIYUKI IS HARGAY FOR THAT WHITE HAWK FELLOW? FOR TWO SEASONS MIYUKI AND NATSUKI ARE AS STRAIGHT AS NUNS IN A CONVENT. IS THIS GONNA CHANGE?

But still, I’m hoping, I’m hoping.
