ADD and Tsubaki’s update

Firstly, I want to thank everyone for your warm feedbacks and comments regarding my short film. It’s very heartening to see it being appreciated by so many, because to honest, I didn’t think it was good. But well I guess it’s natural to only want to be better each time, since you’re only as good as your last piece of work.
Having said that, I thought I should share a little more about what’s installed for me, as well as ADD in the future.
Like how tjhan somewhat accurately describe my situation in his lousy nyoro~n comic strip, I no longer watch animes, saved for one or two occasionally on crunchyroll. I blame this dry spell on Odex for their crusade against fansubs have left me without my preferred source of animes. I dislike watching stream animes, so I’ve decided to drop the whole hobby completely. If Odex thinks that by doing this they will improve their sales growth, they are seriously wrong. We’d rather drop it completely than pay money to a company like theirs. I’m sure everyone is badly affected by it, with the exception of a few who can still watch raw or download without giving a flying fuck for Odex’s letter, but hopefully you guys don’t drop out like me.
So thus, lies the shaky future for Anime Desho Desho. What’s ADD without the Anime?
Also, on a more personal level, I’ve moved on to pursue my passion in film making. Some of you have already had a taste of my abilities, and I’ve also shown my works to people in the industry, hoping to get a shot at the real deal. And today, I can pretty much announce this very exciting news.

I have been accepted to work for renown local director, Eric Khoo on his next film production. He’s the man behind films like Mee Pok Man, 12 Storey, Be with Me, etc. I love Be with Me, it just blows me away whenever I watch it. It is my life long dream to work with this incredible (almost God like) person, and after a very successful interview with him and his producer, I have been roped into to work for him, as… not just any small puny role which honestly, I don’t mind doing, since everyone has to start somewhere, but as an Assistant Director. Film terms wise, I’m the 1st AD.
Eric Khoo is also the man behind discovering new talents like the upcoming director Royston Tan, who recently directed 881. Royston Tan is famous for his controversial film, 15, which was initially banned in Singapore before slapping 27 cuts to the original and given an R(A) rating. 15, is seriously awesome.
We’re shooting the film on the 9th of Dec and I’ll be away for a month. During this period, this site will probably die a horrible death, but if anyone is interested to know about the insides of a production, I’ll be happy to share it here. That’s if I don’t sign any NDA, which I haven’t been given any yet. It’s a feature film, but there’s are no big stars in the talent sheet. Still don’t know some of the details yet since I’ll only come in on the 5th.
Anyone interested to be extras on the set? If we need I wouldn’t mind roping you guys in, lol.

Congratulations :) It’s kinda sad to see you not blogging anymore but what can we do huh? Well good luck with your film and do tell us which one it is so we can catch it =D

Congrats on getting the position! I mean, Eric Khoo. That’s pretty big stuff right there, to be acting as his 1st AD.
As for ODEX, all I’d say is that there are other ways. That’s all.
And do please share your stories with us, if possible. At least this place won’t die that way. ;)
From being a viewer of the finished product to being a worker in the inside (somewhat) is a big step, I guess. Good luck and do your best. ^_^

If u really want to just watch anime subbed why dont u just go on youtube or VEOH?
because 1. he has already stated that he became turned off streaming animes, besides.. nothing beats owning the stuff, even if it is a pirated version.
Try to slip in a couple anime references. Heh.
I cant imagine otakus on flims… but no one could tell unless they know that person! lool
